OUTBACK JACK’S STEW.
From dubious ingredients, Outback Jack brewed a stew.
He invited Tom and Fred and a lady friend he knew
to try his new concoction and then tell him what they thought;
made from homegrown veggies and an animal he had caught.
Now Jack is not a Master Chef - he is a bushy cook.
The recipes old Jack did use weren’t taken from a book.
His method didn’t vary much, and the veggies stayed the same;
often the added meaty bits had a different name.
He’d tried lamb, beef and chicken, even rabbit in the past,
Jack had thought they must be good 'cause his dog would eat ‘em fast.
But this time, there was a foreign brew in his cooking pot,
and Jack was very confident his guests would eat the lot.
Tom, Fred and his lady friend arrived at Jack's for dinner.
Old Jack had done a taste test and thought it was a winner.
The cook-pot soon got empty, and they all were quite impressed,
and each of them did mention that Jack’s cooking was the best.
His lady friend then inquired of the contents in the stew,
Jack said, “Himalayan possum - a mix of veggies too.”
She asked, “Does this possum come from an overseas abode?”
“Nah”, said Jack, “yesterday I found Himalayan on the road.”
